But what makes Harmonize a better solution?
Harmonize’s full suite of online discussion & collaboration tools provides students and instructors with everything they need to have vibrant online courses, including: real-time chat/messaging, image, video & PDF annotation, polls, and Q&A. Content is structured naturally.
Pronto is a real-time messaging tool. It supports direct messaging between students, group messaging in course channels, and takes it one step further to allow direct video communication between two or more students in the class.
When focused only on course chat, Harmonize offers a direct messaging option between two or more students in real time. We do not currently offer course channels or direct video conferencing. We leverage the LMS’ mobile app and reside within that vs forcing a download of a mobile app to work directly with Pronto. If your coursework focuses heavily on text/image/recorded video messaging between students and with instructors, then consider Harmonize as a replacement.
If you’re leveraging the video communication or course-wide chat channels, it might be best to stick with Pronto.
Harmonize also blends the communication and assignment critique into a single collaborative area that is focused more on the richness of the communication. Students and instructors can collaborate with text, in-browser audio/video, images, embedded web pages, polling, Q&A, and more. The ability to communicate effectively is of primary importance during this process and Harmonize enables that process.
