Harmonize Named a Best Collaboration App Finalist by The Tech Edvocate

Harmonize was named a top three Best Collaboration App in the 6th Annual Tech Edvocate Awards. The Tech Edvocate Awards honor the best that EdTech has to offer by recognizing outstanding companies, people, and products.

BOULDER, CO — September 1, 2022 – Harmonize, a suite of discussion and collaboration tools, was named a top three Best Collaboration App in the 6th Annual Tech Edvocate Awards for P-20 education. The Tech Edvocate Awards honor the best that EdTech has to offer by recognizing outstanding companies, people, and products.

Harmonize is a suite of discussion and collaboration tools that integrate seamlessly with learning management systems to increase student-to-student and student-to-instructor interactions online.

Whether it’s a traditional face-to-face, hybrid, or fully online courses, institutions are finding it critical to create more engaging and collaborative learning environments to support student retention and success. With a focus on increasing student engagement and promoting inclusive learning, institutions like Brown University, Fayetteville State University, University of Michigan, and Southern Arkansas University Tech among others, have leveraged Harmonize to increase the quantity and quality of online interactions among students and with instructors.

With easy-to-use content creation tools and a variety of ways for students and instructors to engage with one another — one-on-one and group chat, small-group or class-level discussions, Q&A, and polls — Harmonize has built-in social engagement that increases student participation

For example, SAU Tech has doubled participation rates in online discussions and improved student collaboration by 80 percent. In addition, tools streamline the grading process for instructors, saving them time and providing the kind of Engagement Insights that identify at-risk students so instructors can re-engage them. At Fayetteville State, 9/10 instructors would recommend Harmonize to their peers, and 100% of instructors using Harmonize were satisfied with their online discussions.

With more than 100 educational technologies entered into this year’s awards programs, The Tech Edvocate evaluated nominees based on a variety of criteria, including purpose, flexibility, and scalability of the product as well as its ability to solve pressing customer needs, successfully deliver results, and satisfy customers. An essential determining factor was the product’s ability to engage students. The Tech Edvocate judging panel — composed of EdTech thought leaders, college professors, and administrators — tested products to evaluate uniqueness and ability to engage students.
