BOULDER, CO — March 31, 2023 – Harmonize, a suite of discussion and collaboration tools, was named a top student collaboration solution in the 13th Annual EdTech Awards. The EdTech Digest Awards honor the best that EdTech has to offer by recognizing outstanding companies, people, and products.
The US-based program is the world’s largest recognition program for education technology, recognizing the biggest names in EdTech. Featuring EdTech’s best and brightest, the annual program shines a spotlight on cool tools, inspiring leaders and innovative trendsetters across the K-12, Higher Education, and Skills and Workforce sectors.
“A very big congratulations to all The EdTech Awards 2023 finalists and winners—and congratulations to all who endured the upheavals of the last few years only to come through stronger, more experienced, resilient, and resolute in laying out the future of learning,” said Victor Rivero, who as Editor-in-Chief of EdTech Digest, oversees the program.
Harmonize is a suite of discussion and collaboration tools that integrate seamlessly with learning management systems to increase student-to-student and student-to-instructor interactions online.
Whether it’s a traditional face-to-face, hybrid, or fully online courses, institutions are finding it critical to create more engaging and collaborative learning environments to support student retention and success. With a focus on increasing student engagement and promoting inclusive learning, institutions like Brown University, Fayetteville State University, University of Michigan, and Southern Arkansas University Tech among others, have leveraged Harmonize to increase the quantity and quality of online interactions among students and with instructors.
For example, SAU Tech has doubled participation rates in online discussions and improved student collaboration by 80 percent. In addition, tools streamline the grading process for instructors, saving them time and providing the kind of Engagement Insights that identify at-risk students so instructors can re-engage them. At Fayetteville State, 9/10 instructors would recommend Harmonize to their peers, and 100% of instructors using Harmonize were satisfied with their online discussions.
The EdTech Awards were established in 2010 to recognize, acknowledge, and celebrate the most exceptional innovators, leaders, and trendsetters in education technology. Past winners include Adobe, Claned, Soundtrap, Blackboard, Discovery Education, DreamBox, Edthena, Promethean, Scholastic, SMART Technologies, and more.
This year’s finalists and winners were narrowed from the larger field and judged based on various criteria, including: pedagogical workability, efficacy and results, support, clarity, value and potential.
